Hi Kirk, I bought Planetalk recently and would like to register for the Forum.
I have been through the course once now and would like to take a moment to thank you. It is a big "AHA" moment for me.
... I like improvising (trying anyway) and learned about 20+ scales and modes but could not see how they all hung together. Now that I have been through PlaneTalk I can see the relationships all up and down the fretboard. While I have much to learn and practice still I can now play stuff that sounds more melodical and interesting than ever before. The concept is simple but I still have lots of practice to do to get it second nature. The good thing is that I can now "see" the way forward. Its only a matter of practice. I "get it". Many, many thanks. I feel this is a huge leap forward for me.
Thanks again.

Hi Kirk.
Got the Planetalk stuff and life is different now! I have to acknowledge your rendering and perspective skills! I was blown away by the art! Amazing line work!
I've been nose to the grindstone with Planetalk. It is THE missing link for me. Patterns I've used for soloing these past 37 years are now completely altered and express what I hear in me head so much more. I am eager to jump into the site and participate in the forum... right now, I'm still trying to take a sip from a fire hydrant! Thanks so very much Kirk. Life itself is better now!
I hope to share some playing before too long.
Thanks Again, Kirk.

Hi Kirk,
I got your package today and have started to go through it. I am very impressed with your material and the way you've put it all together. I'm excited to begin learning the concepts you present and already had a little jump on learning the (mindset) since you let me log onto the forums. I think this will make a huge difference in my playing and my approach to guitar. Like many players, I was frustrated and trying to get scales wired thinking that must be the answer. I understand theory pretty well since I studied it in college and in private lessons--but I have never seen the unique approach you have developed and it all makes so much sense.
The instruction I've seen so far (only watched 1st DVD and part of CT Blues) and the information in the book is easily worth 20 lessons or more at $40 an hour; but I'm hoping you won't use this knowledge to raise your prices because I want to order your slide program and other lessons I saw on the website. I'm sure I'll be posting in the forums after I get going with my PT learning.
Thanks for your help with my order and thank you for taking the time to develop the PT program.

"... Thinking about it again reminds me of the "A-ha!" moment I had when I first read PlaneTalk. I couldn't believe I had been playing for about 25 years, and no-one had ever told me this -- the most important thing to know about how guitars work. I spent days, if not weeks, walking round in a daze, grinning like an idiot, and my playing transformed completely from that day on, as I kept getting (and still get) many more, smaller "A-ha" moments as what this simple piece of knowledge can do for you really sinks in.
Sorry to drift slightly off topic, Robin, but I’d just like to thank Kirk -- again -- for teaching me "the secret" of how to actually play this instrument. I'd taken hour-long guitar lessons every week for over 20 years, with many different teachers, and all those lessons added together never freed me to play whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, in any key, the way I can now.
Thank-you, Kirk!

Hello Kirk,
I received your book, cd and dvd today. Though I haden't got much time to explorate, the concept isn't new to me but I understand that I underestimated it and I wish to investigate it in a much deeper way. As some of your students, I'm a jazz guitar player and I hope to learn more from this approach in your musicianship community.
BRAVO for your very clear and friendly material.
Best regards,
Joel

... I am writing this email not to ask a question but as a compliment to you . I have always believed that there was some method to the madness of the fret board and have tried for years to “crack the code”. I have spent countless hours pursuing lots of different ideas and “sort” of got there but not quite. So here comes the compliment……….. Your method actually works and ties together a lot of loose ends . Of course it does work because it is in fact very simple. However, having said that it is simple might mislead your purchasers to believe that it is easy . It is not easy . What is simple is way in which you have captured the devilishly complexity of the fret board and explained it so that it can be learned with practice. I am sure that I have found it understandable because , prior reading your method I actually knew knew most of the bits and pieces of your method but I just could not put it together . Now I think I can ( with lots of practice but that’s ok ) . At least I now know what to practice . One last thing , your Chord Tone Blues is very good and is great practice .
By the way, in my opinion , the course is definitely Not for beginners . I think only an intermediate will be able to read between the lines and take real value from it . However, I could be wrong.

Kirk,
I received the Plane Talk materials and Slide DVD this weekend and have had a chance to briefly read/watch them. You did a fantastic job laying out these concepts. I have been playing guitar as a hobby for nearly 20 years and have always struggled with seeing the fretboard. My first read through the Plane Talk book really resonated with me and I am excited to delve into the materials deeper. I am just begining my journey into slide guitar and feel that the Slide DVD will be a great tool to start me on my way.
